Nick Almstädt
Fellow Analyst


Nick Almstädt is a Fellow Analyst at Middle East Minds with a special focus on the climate and security nexus. He is also currently leading a crisis management initiative at NATO Headquarters.
In addition to a diploma from Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg, he holds a Master of Advanced Studies in International Security from the University of Geneva. With over 20 years of experience as a staff officer, including several years in NATO and UN missions in the Middle East and North Africa region, he brings extensive expertise in strategy, military, international organizations and planning. He is a long-standing member of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and the German Society for Security Policy (GSP).
